Lessons from 2021 to take with you this new year

A new year always brings that promise of new beginnings and a fresh start. After the year that 2021 was, you may be eager to bid farewell to 2021 and open your mind to all the hopeful possibilities of 2022. As you leave behind 2021, it doesn’t mean you need to leave behind the lessons of 2021 though.

I feel these following quotes best capture some of the lessons 2021 taught us about life:

Look back on where you were a year ago today (and if you forgot, social media can always help with this). Think about how much has changed since then and all you’ve overcome to get to the person you are today, one year later.

You can’t go back in the past and change things, you can only change where you go from here forward. When you stay locked in the past, re-living past events in your head, you are like a prisoner in your own mind. Forgive yourself, forgive others and move forward, taking these lessons with you.
